Terms of Service
Effective October 16, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and SITETOOLS, Inc. d/b/a Verified.net ("Verified.net", "we", "us"). They cover your use of the Verified.net website, dashboard and API (the "Service"). If you use the Service for a company, you agree to these terms for that company and confirm you're authorized to do so. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Verified.net checks email addresses and phone numbers and returns validity information and a risk score. Results are automated estimates based on public technical signals such as DNS and number-plan data. They can be wrong or out of date, and we don't guarantee any particular result.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give us a valid email address.
- Keep your password and API keys secret. You're responsible for all use of your account and keys. Tell us right away at support@verified.net if you think they've been compromised.
- One free trial per person or organization. Creating accounts to collect extra free credits isn't allowed.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes, such as checking contact details that people provide to you. You must not:
- use the Service, or any result from it, as a factor in decisions about a person's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or other purposes covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws. Verified.net is not a consumer reporting agency;
- use it to locate, track, harass, stalk or identify people, or to build lists of people to contact without their consent;
- use it to send spam, robocalls or texts in breach of laws such as the CAN-SPAM Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act or anti-spam and privacy laws elsewhere;
- submit data you have no right to process, or process personal data without a lawful basis where the law requires one;
- resell or redistribute the Service or its results as a competing service without our written permission;
- get around rate limits, credit charges or security measures, probe or attack our systems, or interfere with other customers.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Credits in a closed account are not refundable when the account was closed for misuse.
4. Your data
You keep all rights to the email addresses, phone numbers and other data you submit ("Customer Data"). You give us permission to process it only to provide, secure and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to submit Customer Data and for telling people how you use their details where the law requires it.
5. Credits, prices and payment
- The Service is paid for with prepaid credits. Each check uses the number of credits shown on our pricing page at the time of the check. Requests rejected as invalid input are not charged.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes, which you are responsible for. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card details.
- Credits don't expire while your account is open. They have no cash value, can't be transferred, and can only be used on the Service.
- We may change prices and credit costs for future purchases and checks. Changes don't affect credits you've already bought.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open.
6. API use and availability
We apply rate limits to keep the Service reliable. We aim for high availability but don't promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces the Service, you can ask for a refund of unused credits even outside the normal refund window.
7. Disclaimer
The Service and all results are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them.
9. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your Customer Data, your use of results, or your breach of these terms or the law.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if required by law, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason. If we end your access without cause, we will refund your unused credits.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and email you about material changes at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [state to be added] and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in that state have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek urgent relief in any competent court.
